Kitchen Inspection

August 23, 2011

… Was successful! The inspector didn’t see any big issues with the work done and signed us off on everything so we are ready to start insulating and drywalling. I was really relieved that we passed the inspection with flying colors. I have heard so many stories of nightmare inspections that set projects back so this was great. Hopefully everything keeps movingy and we can keep see some real progress.

Not all inspections are rigorous: after we did some remodeling on the second floor of our cottage, a very overweight electrical inspector came out to inspect. He climbed the 7 steps to get into the cottage and was already sweating. He looked at the narrow, steep steps to the second floor; pondered for a few seconds, then he flipped the two way light switch at the bottom on and off. It worked, so he said “Good enough” and that was it.
